North Greenville University congratulates Dr. Jon Boulet, professor of economics and chair of the department of business administration, upon his selection as the university’s 2021 SCICU Excellence In Teaching award recipient. Boulet holds a Ph.D. in economics from Clark University (Mass.) and a B.S. in economics from Bryant University (Rhode Island).
Boulet joined the NGU faculty in 2002 with the desire to teach at a Christian university where he could explain how the Christian faith causes societies to flourish as well as reinforce the faith of his students. Over the past two decades, Dr. Boulet has taught economics classes at all levels as well as introductory courses in business and statistics.
Boulet enjoys mentoring students and aiding them in the development of their careers. He regularly invites economics minors over for dinner at his house for fellowship and fun with his family. Boulet likes students to see that, while professors are teachers, they are also normal people who live lives outside of class just like students do.
In addition to his classroom teaching and departmental leadership, Dr. Boulet currently serves on the NGU Faculty Welfare and Status Committee. He was instrumental in the development of the university’s Master of Business Administration program. Dr. Boulet has also participated in seminars offered by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education, attended seminars offered by the Acton Institute, and participated in the Hillsdale Free Market Forum.
Prior to his faculty appointment at NGU, Dr. Boulet served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
