Dr. Chandra B. Singh, professor of Economics, is the 2024 SCICU Excellence In Teaching Award recipient for Voorhees University. Dr. Singh, a native of India, earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith University in Varanasi, India, and holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Economics from Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India.
A 15-year veteran of the Voorhees faculty, Dr. Singh teaches Economics, Business Math, Business Ethics, Business Statistics, Production/Quantitative Methods, and Research Methods. He is committed to fostering the welfare of all students under his care and is passionate about making a difference in students’ lives. This is evidenced by his demonstrated success in facilitating student achievement in subject areas in which some have been underprepared. Students laud him for making content accessible and for his willingness to work with students independently or outside of the classroom.
Beyond classroom instruction, Dr. Singh serves on the board of directors for the International Association of Technology and Management, chairs the Voorhees University Institutional Review Board (IRB) and engages students in travel abroad as the advisor for ENACTUS. He also continues to advance his international scholarship, and among his recent publications is an article on the “COVID-19 Impact on the United States Higher Education Revenue from International Students” in the International Journal of Rapid Research, Engineering Technology, and Applied Science in 2023.
