Conference Carolinas selects SWU runner as Men’s Cross Country Freshman of the Month

SWU's Ronan O'Neill selected Conference Carolinas Men's Cross Country Freshman of the Month
Southern Wesleyan University’s Ronan O’Neill (center, black jersey) has been selected as Conference Carolinas Men’s Cross Country Freshman of the Month.
GREENVILLE, S.C. (courtesy conferencecarolinas.com) — Ronan O’Neill of Southern Wesleyan has been selected as the Conference Carolinas men’s cross country Freshman of the Month for August/September of 2022.

A freshman from Pendleton, South Carolina, O’Neill was the top NCAA Division II finisher at the NCAA Division I Furman Invitational on Sept. 17. O’Neill’s 5k time of 15:22.18 allowed him to claim 15th place overall at the prestigious event. He was chosen Conference Carolinas men’s cross country Runner of the Week for his impressive performance.

In addition, O’Neill placed fourth at the Queen City Invite on Sept. 23 with an 8k time of 25:52. In the Bruins XC Night Classic to start the season on Sept. 3, O’Neill finished eighth with a 6k time of 20:02.1.
