ANDERSON, S.C. (courtesy andersonuniversity.edu) — The Anderson University College of Business teamed up with the city of Anderson to provide cutting-edge business training to local entrepreneurs in the community.

During the five-week intense training opportunity, business minded individuals met once a week to develop their business skills. The topics include targeting strategies, crossing the chasm, trajectories of demand and technology, product/service development, consumer research, distribution and sales increase strategies.

This training, open to all regardless of background, education, or experience, offered opportunities to individuals for cutting-edge training that’s not possible due to time or financial constraints.

“This is a unique opportunity for aspiring and current entrepreneurs to receive real education, cutting business training to grow their business; regardless of background, experience, education, or economic status,” said Dr. Giovanni Calise, professor of business at the Anderson University College of Business.

“This training, taught by Dr. Calise, has been extremely unique,” said City of Anderson Economic Development Coordinator Sara Wright. “He has an interactive teaching style that, because of the intimate class size, the business owners can ask specific questions and learn information that can be tailored directly to their business. The five-week structure allows for the repetition needed to retain this beneficial information that these business owners can apply now and remember for future growth! It has been a joy for me each week to watch these business owners interact with and feel heard by Dr. Calise in their efforts to grow their businesses.”

The training took place from October 4 through November 1, 2022.
