Prior to joining Anderson University in 2017, Williams retired as a major with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office after serving 31 years in law enforcement. His career includes over 20 years of certified instructor experience through the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and 10 years teaching as a visiting lecturer for Clemson University. His experiences in patrol, criminal investigations, special teams, and his command experience in public safety administration assist him in the classroom, where he blends academic theory with practical, real-world applications.
In addition to preparing undergraduate students for their professional careers, Williams teaches incumbent public safety professionals for the South Carolina Command College at Anderson University. He also teaches Human Resource Management for Anderson University’s Master of Public Administration and has served on several committees.
Outside of the classroom, Williams continues to serve as an instructor and guest lecturer on various topics in human resource management, criminal justice, and small unmanned systems (sUAS) management. In 2019, he earned an sUAS commercial pilot license and is now certified as a lead instructor for Airborne Public Safety Association.
