Three Allen University freshmen selected for the 2024 Minority Softball Prospects All-Star Game

May 11, 2024 by SC Independent Colleges & Universities

COLUMBIA, S.C. (courtesy auyellowjackets.com) — Allen University softball’s Destiny Breton, Alaina Harvey, and Elissa Rich have been selected to participate in the 2024 Minority Softball Prospects HBCU All-Star Game on May 31, 2024 in Houston, Texas.

The three freshmen recently completed their first seasons with the Allen softball program and are the first student-athletes in program history to be named to the event.

“Since the first MSP HBCU All-Star Game, I have added getting one of our players in the game to my list of goals as a coach,” said second-year head coach Kaela Robinson. “I am beyond proud of these ladies for not only believing in what can be built here at Allen but for also rising to the occasion and setting the standard here. To have three players selected, especially with it being their freshman year is truly special and they all are more than deserving of this opportunity. I’m excited to see them compete and look forward to getting even more players into the games for years to come.”

In 2023 Minority Softball Prospects (MSP) hosted the first ever HBCU Softball All-Star Game featuring 40 of the best players from D1, D2, and NAIA to showcase their skills. The All-Star game not only provides a national platform for HBPU softball exposure but it allows the ladies and their program’s accomplishments to be celebrated.
