CENTRAL, S.C. (courtesy swu.edu) — Southern Wesleyan University’s commitment to veterans and currently-serving military personnel was recognized again with the Military Friendly®️ designation for 2021-2022.
Southern Wesleyan exceeded standards in these categories: academic policies and compliance, admissions and orientation, culture and commitment, financial aid and assistance, graduation and career and military student support and retention.
Southern Wesleyan recognizes veterans and active military personnel in several ways, including recognizing and honoring their service at graduation, hosting military appreciation events, a military monument on campus, and in fall 2021 a grant-funded center will be open on campus. The Warriors Courage, Success, Respect, and Empowerment (CARE) Center will be devoted to addressing veteran students’ academic, financial, physical, and social needs.
With the support of the US Department of Education’s Centers of Excellence for Veteran Student Success, Southern Wesleyan University will provide additional levels of support to our active military and veteran student population. We are excited about what the funding will mean for our students, including a dedicated space (Warriors CARE Center) with state-of-the-art technology, workshops, mentorship opportunities, and much more.
