COLUMBIA, SC – December 9, 2024 — South Carolina Independent Colleges & Universities (SCICU) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $15,000 Scholarship Challenge Grant from the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC). The proceeds of this grant will support SCICU’s Lifeline Grant Program, which provides vital aid to students experiencing financial need at SCICU’s 21 member institutions.
“We are so thankful to be recipients of this Scholarship Challenge Grant from the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC),” said Emma Reabold, SCICU’s Vice President for Development and Campus Services. “This grant will significantly enhance our ability to support deserving students as they pursue their academic dreams and contribute to South Carolina’s workforce and communities.”
“The Council of Independent Colleges is proud to support South Carolina Independent Colleges & Universities and its member colleges through CIC’s Scholarship Challenge Grant Program,” said Marjorie Hass, president of the Council of Independent Colleges. “The grant will provide additional scholarship aid for students of second-year status or higher at SCICU’s four-year colleges and universities.”
The Lifeline Grant Program has long been a cornerstone of SCICU’s mission to expand access to higher education, providing much-needed financial assistance to students across South Carolina. With the support of this CIC Scholarship Challenge Grant, SCICU will be able to extend its impact, helping more students overcome financial obstacles and achieve their educational goals.
