January 25, 2024 by SC Independent Colleges & Universities

COLUMBIA, S.C. — SCICU joined with major corporations and other state-based nonprofits in sponsoring 2024 Business Speaks, the S.C. Chamber’s annual legislative session kick-off event held January 10 at the USC Pastides Alumni Center.

Event attendees heard from Governor McMaster and leaders in the S.C. House and Senate regarding the state’s priorities during the 2024 session of the General Assembly.

SCICU President & CEO Jeff Perez serves on the S.C. Chamber’s Education and Workforce Development Committee.

“SCICU and the S.C. Chamber share a commitment to promoting a bright future for South Carolina,” said Perez. “We are proud to support the Chamber’s work and look forward to collaborations that expand the capacity of our campuses and businesses to benefit the state and their communities.”

At the SCICU table, President & CEO Jeff Perez and Vice-President for Development and Campus Services Emma Reabold were joined by SCICU Board Chair and Cantey Tech CEO Willis Cantey, S.C. Senator Chip Campsen (R-Beaufort), Columbia College President John Dozier, and Karen Jenkins, president/CEO of KRJ Consulting and chair of the Columbia Chamber.
