SCICU awards $421,000 in merit and need-based scholarships at 21 private colleges and universities

COLUMBIA, S.C. — With generous support from philanthropic organizations and major corporations, S.C. Independent Colleges and Universities (SCICU) is proud to announce a total of $421,000 in merit and need-based scholarships for undergraduate students attending its 21 member private colleges and universities.

“We are extremely grateful for the investment our donors make in developing SCICU students into South Carolina’s next generation of business and civic leaders,” said Jeff Perez, SCICU President and CEO.

During 2023-2024 academic year, more than 270 students at SCICU’s 21 member campuses are benefitting from the generosity of corporate and philanthropic donors. Benefactors supporting the SCICU Scholars Program this year include:

  • Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation
  • Duke Energy Foundation
  • Milliken & Company Charitable Foundation
  • Power:Ed, a philanthropy of South Carolina Student Loan Corporation

  • Unum / Colonial Life
