CLINTON, S.C. (courtesy presby.edu) — A new partnership between the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IUPUI and Presbyterian College will give PC graduates special opportunities to pursue an education with the nation’s first school of philanthropy.
A new “Presbyterian College and Lilly Family School Fellowship Award” provides qualified PC students and alumni opportunities to earn both graduate-level academic degrees and certificates and a professional development credential.
The graduate-level programs include the school’s Master in Philanthropic Studies degree and its graduate certificates in Philanthropic Studies and Philanthropic Fundraising. PC students and alumni will receive a 25 percent tuition scholarship and application fee waiver to the masters and graduate certificate programs. This includes the online versions of these programs. Residential students may be eligible for other scholarship opportunities, as well as a graduate assistantship. These opportunities are available to all PC graduates from a wide variety of majors.
In addition, the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy’s Lake Institute on Faith & Giving will partner with Presbyterian College to deliver a professional development opportunity for leaders of all faith communities in the southeast region of the U.S. The in-person training portion of this Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising program will be co-hosted with Presbyterian College in Greenville in early summer 2023.
“We are pleased to partner with Presbyterian College, and we look forward to welcoming their graduates as new students at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy,” said Dr. Amir Pasic, the Eugene R. Tempel Dean of the school. “Additionally, our professional development collaboration aligns well with both institutions’ missions, and it will offer a great opportunity for faith leaders in the southeast to participate in the Lake Institute’s executive certificate program.”
The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and PC anticipate that these initial partnerships will lead to future partnership opportunities.
“The Lilly Family School is at the vanguard of philanthropy and fundraising education and research,” said PC president Dr. Matthew vandenBerg. “As a graduate of one of its certificate programs, I have personally witnessed the deep, enduring value it offers practitioners and the overall nonprofit sector. As America’s Innovative Service College, PC teaches students the art and science of addressing societal challenges at their root causes. Our graduates are an excellent fit for the Lilly Family School’s programs, and our two institutional missions are complementary and make for a powerful partnership.”
To be eligible for admission, Presbyterian College students must have completed their undergraduate degree and meet the academic standards of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and the IUPUI Graduate School.
