Morris College announces New York Times op-ed columnist as May 2024 commencement speaker

SUMTER, S.C. (courtesy morris.edu) — Op-ed columnist, New York Times bestselling author, and MSNBC Analyst Charles Blow will present the keynote address at Morris College’s May 4 commencement ceremony. The event will be held at the Sumter County Civic Center.

Now an op-ed columnist at the New York Times, Blow previously served as the paper’s graphics director, leading the organization to significant awards. He has also worked as the Art director of National Geographic Magazine and for the Detroit News.

Blow has authored a number of award-winning books, including “Fire Shut Up in My Bones” and “The Devil You Know: A Black Power Manifesto.”
