Morris College announces events for 2020 Homecoming – Jan. 20-25

January 12, 2020 by SC Independent Colleges & Universities

SUMTER, S.C. (courtesy morris.edu) — Morris College presents “The Blueprint” as the theme for the 2020 Morris College Homecoming week scheduled Jan. 19-25, 2020. The Morris College Hornets will compete against Fisk University on Saturday, Jan. 25.

“The Blueprint” is an experience that embodies the legacy of Morris College and all of Hornet Nation. The theme models the foundation of the college’s core principles: god, man and knowledge. The week kicks-off with a chapel service on Sunday, Jan. 19 followed by the MLK Legacy Concert on Monday that will feature gospel recording artist Rance Allen. The theme also informs the Sumter community of the college’s rich history while showcasing the many talents of its students.

“The Blueprint allows for current students and alumni to connect and build on to the legacy that was established in 1908,” says Student Government Association President Dinasia Nathan.

“As we welcome alumni and supporters to the Hornets’ Nest we invite all to get in the homecoming spirit, fellowship and experience what Hornet Nation has to offer,” said Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Juana Davis Freeman.
