Furman University Partners with Upstate SC Alliance

March 14, 2018 by SC Independent Colleges & Universities

Upstate-SC-Alliance-Logo-CMYKGREENVILLE, SC (courtesy furman.edu) — Furman University has established a partnership with Upstate SC Alliance, the regional economic development organization representing the 10-county northwestern corner of South Carolina.

As an investor in Upstate SC Alliance, Furman will offer its Undergraduate Evening Studies (UES) programming at a reduced tuition rate exclusively for employees of Upstate SC Alliance organizations. The 60-year-old Furman UES program exists to provide quality higher education to working adults in the Upstate.

Said UES Director Beth Crews, “Workforce and talent development is one of the chief considerations for business leaders when deciding to relocate or expand in the Upstate. Our ability to provide educational programming for non-traditional students helps fill the need to develop talent in our region. As part of Upstate SC Alliance, we can expand the benefit of a Furman education to more students.”

For qualified students, Furman UES offers a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in business administration, accounting, or information technology; and certificates in accounting or data analytics.
Through the valuable research services, marketing exposure, and information sharing opportunities provided by the Upstate SC Alliance partnership, Furman gains the opportunity to broaden and deepen its relationships with area employers and better serve the Upstate community.

For more information about Furman Undergraduate Evening Studies including admission requirements, visit furman.edu/ues, or contact Beth Crews at 864-294-3160, beth.crews@furman.edu. More information about Upstate SC Alliance may be found at www.upstatealliance.com.
