CSU Women’s Golf Coach wins Big South Coach of the Year honors in his first season

CHARLESTON, S.C. (courtesy charlestonsouthern.edu) — After earning the No. 2 seed in the Big South Tournament and winning the program’s first conference title in 14 years, first-year Head Coach Chan Metts was named Big South Women’s Golf Coach of the Year.

In 9 of the 10 tournaments that the CSU squad has played in, they placed in the top 10 overall. In five of those tournaments, they placed in the top five. Metts was also pivotal in the development of Odette Font, who medaled twice this season, as well as five players who received All-Conference honors.
