CHARLESTON, S.C. (courtesy charlestonsouthern.edu) — After a nationwide search this spring, Charleston Southern University is pleased to announce Dr. Anthony Turner as its new vice president of enrollment and marketing.
“The Lord has answered our prayers in sending us a highly experienced professional to lead CSU to new heights in enrollment and marketing,” Interim VP of Enrollment Services and Marketing Tom Clemmons said. “Dr. Tony Turner is a servant leader whose passion for excellence will propel our Enrollment and Marketing team to reach our tactical and strategic goals in the years ahead.”
Turner currently serves as the vice president of enrollment and marketing at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, where he leads the institution’s work in enrollment services, external marketing, and public relations. Prior, he was vice president and dean of student enrollment services for Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. There he supervised nearly 100 employees in admissions, financial aid, career services, education marketing, alumni, registrar’s office and student success.
“My vision for enrollment and marketing is to mobilize our team to share with great enthusiasm that CSU is a premier Christian college committed to excellence in every way,” said Turner. “I look forward to working with staff, faculty, and students to leverage industry best practices and develop innovative approaches as we tell the story of what Charleston Southern has to offer.”
With plans to begin his role this summer, the Bob Jones University graduate (B.A. in practical Christian training) is no stranger to South Carolina.
“My family and I are also looking forward to experiencing Charleston’s incredible beauty and culture, along with its Southern hospitality and charm,” Turner said. “The comprehensive nature of Charleston Southern University, from academics, athletics and student makeup, which is driven by an exciting strategic direction and solid commitment to Christ and the Word of God, compelled me to join the Charleston Southern family.”
Charleston Southern’s president, Dr. Dondi Costin, said, “Dr. Tony Turner is a man on a mission to advance God’s Kingdom through Christian higher education. His heart for the Lord, godly ambition, and commitment to excellence have demonstrated that he is God’s man to lead our enrollment and marketing team to the next level. His hand at the helm increases our confidence even more that the best is yet to come.”
In addition to his bachelor’s degree, Turner also earned a Master of Arts degree in evangelism and church planting from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, as well as a Doctor of Education degree from Northcentral University in Prescott, Arizona.
