GREENVILLE, S.C. (courtesy furman.edu) — The Community Foundation of Greenville has recognized Furman University President Elizabeth Davis with the Education Transformation Award as part of its 2022 Charitable Giving Awards. The honor, also known as the Education Spirit Award, is sponsored by The Capital Corporation and spotlights “an extraordinary individual or organization dedicated to the betterment of youth and the educational experience for the Upstate.” The announcement appeared on the Community Foundation website and in TOWN Magazine (pp. 100-101).

Humbled upon learning of the award, Davis said, “From an educational perspective, this is the most consequential award I’ve ever received. It’s about a life’s work, not about one particular initiative. After thirty years, looking back, I know this path was the right one for me.”

A four-minute video produced by TOWN Magazine features more about the honor. It includes remarks by the award’s sponsor, Davis and Furman trustees in addition to stunning footage of campus.
