Columbia College Hosts APEC Fellows

July 12, 2019 by SC Independent Colleges & Universities

COLUMBIA, S.C. (courtesy columbiasc.edu) — Columbia College’s APEC (Alternative Pathways for Educator Certification) Center recently welcomed the second cohort of APEC Fellows from Richland School District One, Richland School District Two, Fairfield County Schools and Lexington School District Four.

A Center of Excellence in Alternative Certification awarded by the Commission on Higher Education, APEC prepares instructional assistants in partner districts with the content and pedagogy needed to be successful as a classroom teacher while completing a job-embedded teacher residency. Support from Colonial Life allowed the program to expand into Richland 2 and Lexington Four for the 2019-2020 school year.
