About Us
Founded in 1908, Coker University is a student-centered, comprehensive college dedicated to preparing each student in the undergraduate day program, the Adult Learners Program for Higher Achievement (ALPHA) and the graduate program for both personal and professional success.
With a 14:1 student to faculty ratio and an average class size of 12, a close-knit community of students, faculty and staff and the opportunity for students to personalize their education are the foundations of the Coker experience. More than 50 academic programs all emphasize hands-on learning and a practical application of the liberal arts—and our distinctive round-table, discussion-based learning philosophy challenges students to reach their personal best within and beyond the classroom.
Coker is ranked among the “Best Colleges” in the South by U.S. News & World Report as well as The Princeton Review. Located in Hartsville, S.C., Coker is within two hours of the cultural, financial and recreational resources of Charlotte, Columbia, Charleston and Myrtle Beach.
