Benedict announces its 31st Harambee Festival scheduled for Feb. 28-Mar. 1

COLUMBIA, S.C. (courtesy benedict.edu) — Benedict College invites the public to join in the festivities at its 31st Harambee Festival. The event will kick off at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 28th in the HRC Arena with a talent search, live stage performances, and plenty of family fun.

On Saturday, February 29th, the Harambee Festival will welcome award-winning gospel singer and songwriter VaShawn Mitchell and the Gospel Heritage International Workshop Summit.

Other Saturday performers will include Terence Young and the Terence Young Experience, TiffanyJ, LaSell Williams, the Benedict College Gospel Choir, and the Harambee Festival Community Choir.

The community is also invited to enjoy other fellowship opportunities on Saturday, including a children’s village with bounce houses, free health screenings, performances by the Benedict College Marching Band of Distinction, a women’s village, and much more.

The three-day festival will conclude on Sunday, March 1st with the Harambee Festival Community Choir Concert at 4 p.m. in Antisdel Chapel.
