Anderson University to host upcoming OLC Collaborate event for digital education community

ANDERSON, S.C. (courtesy andersonuniversity.edu) — Anderson University Online and Continuous Learning has announced it is serving as academic partner for OLC Collaborate Anderson, S.C., a one-day event for digital learning professionals, educators and administrators, taking place Oct. 10, 2019 at Anderson University.

OLC Collaborate is produced in partnership with the Online Learning Consortium (OLC), a community of higher education leaders and innovators, dedicated to advancing quality digital teaching and learning experiences.

“As a leader in innovative teaching and learning, Anderson University is excited to partner with regional and national experts in holding this important event for the region’s digital education leaders, said Dr. Josh Herron, dean of Online and Continuous Learning at Anderson University. “Holding this conference demonstrates our investment in the conversation around engaging, state-of-the-art digital learning initiatives.”

OLC Collaborate is designed to provide an environment in which attendees learn from each other and top experts through the discussion of solutions to digital learning challenges. Each speaker’s presentation is followed by facilitator-led breakout sessions that allow participants to delve into each topic in greater detail.

The upcoming event will focus on emerging trends in online learning and will include presentations by the following regional and national digital learning experts:

  • Dr. Ben Deaton, vice president of Technology, Online Learning and Innovation at Anderson University
  • Dr. Jonathan Lashley, senior instructional technologist at Boise State University
  • Dr. Sherri Restauri, director Coastal Office of Online Learning at Coastal Carolina University

“We are delighted to be partnering with Anderson University Online and Continuous Learning to bring the OLC Collaborate experience to the Anderson, SC region,” said Jennifer Mathes, Ph.D., interim chief executive officer of the Online Learning Consortium. “We anticipate a highly interactive day filled with valuable learnings from a wide range of voices and perspectives.”
