Anderson University and S.C. Technical College System ink statewide agreement to enhance transfers

October 22, 2020 by SC Independent Colleges & Universities

ANDERSON, S.C. (courtesy andersonuniversity.edu) — Anderson University and the South Carolina Technical College System signed a partnership agreement designed to enhance the seamless transfer of students and graduates from the 16 technical colleges in South Carolina to Anderson University. This agreement works to increase and encourage access to baccalaureate education for two-year college students.

“This agreement is a culmination of our efforts to partner with the SC Technical College System to create streamlined pathways for students who desire to continue their education at Anderson University,” said Dr. Evans Whitaker, president of Anderson University. “Students from all 16 technical colleges will now find their credits seamlessly applied to our numerous online or on-campus bachelor degree programs. This partnership is reflective of our commitment to the state’s workforce and economic development by creating more access to AU’s high-quality, in-demand programs.”

“This agreement will help our graduates achieve a seamless transfer to Anderson University,” said Dr. Tim Hardee, president of the SC Technical College System. “This is an important partnership focused on enhancing access and achieving student success. We are always pleased to build new bridges for our students that broaden their opportunities and help them rise up to realize their educational dreams and career aspirations.”

The program will aid students in making a smoother transfer between institutions. It will help reduce lost time to graduation and relieve some of the added financial burden now associated with transferring. Students who have completed an associate of arts or associate of science degree program at a South Carolina Technical College with a grade of “C” or better in each course applicable to the AA or AS degree will enter Anderson University with junior standing. All transfer courses will be accepted and applied to the attainment of the degree appropriate to the student’s major.
