About Us

Newberry College's 90-acre campus is located in Newberry, South Carolina, the safest city in the state. With 24 majors, 31 minors, 1084 students, and a 14:1 student-teacher ratio, Newberry College ensures that students receive individual attention and guidance as part of its values-based curriculum.

With its excellence in sciences, teacher education and values based learning; Newberry College is a great place for a student to invest in their future. The College houses the only undergraduate forensic chemistry program in the state and is proud to introduce our new nursing program. Newberry College graduates have a great acceptance rate for graduate and professional schools.

Offering more than 50 organizations for students, Newberry College provides many opportunities for excellence outside the classroom. Over fifty percent of our students participate in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The athletics program includes fifteen NCAA competitive teams for men and women.

A Lutheran College that is supported by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Newberry College is dedicated to giving students a quality education in a Christian environment while leading students to prepare for meaningful life experiences, occupations, and service to the world and to the church.

With its antebellum mansions and tree-lined streets, Newberry South Carolina is both quaint and modern. The local area, with its moderate climate, provides many different year-round recreational opportunities including golfing, boating and hiking. Both the beach and the mountains are an easy drive from Newberry and South Carolina's state capital, Columbia, is only thirty minutes from our campus.

Together, all of these factors make Newberry College a great place to grow and a special place for learning.
